Picture #1 Silicone implants are in place, the right breast shows a rupture and is drooping considerable. The blue dots are the plastic surgeon's marks for relocating the nipples to the correct anatomical position.

Picture #2 Both silicone implants have been removed and the breast have undergone a mastopexy (uplift) where the tissue is gathered and tied up to position the breast in a more youthful position and to make it more anatomically correct. Scars show that the breast was cut open to allow removal of the implant without the possibility of rupturing upon removal and to insure that any free silicone could be removed from the cavity without "pushing" it into other tissues.

Picture #3 One year follow-up on implant removal. Scars are still visible and breast are still tender and sore with considerable discomfort periodically. It took about two-and-one-half years for the scars to become normal. The nipple area and most of the right breast are still numb. Both implants were found to have ruptured within the capsule.
