IMAGE] At age 42, June suffered from fibrocystic disease with multifocal adenosis. In 1974 she underwent left simple mastectomy, and in 1975 she underwent bilateral reconstruction with Surgitek silicone gel-filled implants.

Following surgery, she developed capsular contracture, and severe pain in the left breast. She also suffered from a variety of allergies, and chronic anxiety.

The pain in her left breast, and arm had become so intense , she consulted a neurologist, who was unable to diagnose the cause of her problems, and therefore was unable to offer a solution.

June was also suffering from burning, and itching, with the additional feeling of extreme cold under the left arm. This was associated with the sensation of a wide rubber band, tightening around both breasts. She also was experiencing cold in her extremities, especially her feet and her nose. The left side of her face would go numb, and she experienced numbness in her arms, and legs. She also had occassional fainting spells, with the feeling of spinning, and extreme dizziness. All of these episodes were gradually getting worst.

An MRI was performed on her chest but revealed no evidence of chest wall mass, or axillary abnormality.

By 1989 her left breast implant became displaced, and the pain from the capsular contacture became unbearable.

In 1992, June had her breast implants, and scar capsules removed, with the hope that she would now be able to lead a normal life, and be free, from the pain and suffering she had been subjected to for so many years.

Sadly there is no improvement in June's health. She suffers from a host of new ailments.....loss of bowel control, ulcers in her esophagus, and fibromyalgia. Her body is covered in rashes & welts, and some of the silicone that "escaped", has settled in the groin area, which makes it painful for her to do the simplest of tasks, she is unable to sit, or stand for more than ten minutes. June has lost the joy of things that the average person takes for granted. She can't pick-up or play with her precious grandchild!!!

Today she must face what lies ahead, alone. June's husband couldn't handle her growing health problems, or her disfigured body. In his eyes, without breasts, June was "damaged goods", and he called her a freak. June now lives alone, existing from month to month on a meager, Social Security Disability Check.

Sadly June's Story is not unique. It has happened to so many women, and it's typical of how Breast Implants have destroyed marriages, and families!!!
